Fabian Wilnis and Darren Bent were the Blues goalscoring heroes as Town comfortably defeated the old enemy 2-0 at Carrow Road. The introduction of 16-year-old Dean Bowditch on 70 minutes proved pivotal, the striker setting up both goals, the first within a minute of taking to the field.

Town can blame woeful defending and poor first half finishing after losing 4-2 at home to Wolves. Marcus Bent put Town ahead early on before Kenny Miller equalised. Matt Holland scored from a freekick but second half goals from Miller again, Lee Naylor and George Ndah took the points.

An 88th minute Paul Peschisolido goal cruelly denied the Blues a place in the fifth round draw after Town had made a dramatic comeback from three goals down. The Blades had gone ahead through goals from Michael Brown (2) and Phil Jagielka before Thomas Gaardsøe, Tommy Miller with a penalty and Darren Bent had put Town back on terms.

Town keeper Andy Marshall says he is not bothered by the section of Town supporters who regularly boo him. The former Norwich keeper has had a difficult time with form and dissenting fans since joining the Blues in the summer of 2001.

Danish defender Thomas Gaardsøe is looking increasingly likely to be OK for Saturday's Division One clash with Burnley. More good news for Joe Royle is that Tommy Miller will be fit enough for inclusion after missing out against Morecambe last weekend.

Town avoided an FA Cup shock with a comfortable win over ten-man Morecambe. Jamie Clapham scored after a minute before Jim Bentley saw red for the visitors. The second goal, from Darren Bent, was a long time coming before Ambrose added a third and Bent notched his second and Town's fourth.

Town will part company with 15% of their non-playing staff as the financial problems at the club continue to bite. Town chairman David Sheepshanks described the move as "regrettable" and "sad" and paid tribute to the club's off-field employees.
